July 4th Weekend

Happy Independence Day to all our loyal blog readers! Hope you all had a wonderful day! We had a fun weekend together as a family, having a cookout and doing some sparklers (in the daylight before bedtime on Sunday). Then Monday we relaxed at home until time for the Bats game. They had an awesome fireworks show once it got dark. This was Hallie's first time seeing fireworks (and her first time staying up late for that matter) and she was SO excited..you can tell from her face in these pictures! The funniest thing was that the game wasn't even over yet (extra innings) and the poor players had to keep playing in the midst of fireworks going off. :c) It is a toss up what was more exciting though---that or the fact that Daddy's connections really paid off when Buddy the Bat surprised her with a special meeting and a signed ball ("To my #1 bud Hallie! Love, Buddy"), plus lots of hugs and high fives. She was thrilled!

PS...The random picture of Oliver is to show off his red, white, and blue claws. What a patriotic kitty we have! :c)
