Getting our "Swagger" on

Josh and I were in need of a little getaway so we took the opportunity to celebrate our 7th anniversary a few weeks early while we were visiting my family in Knoxville (see other post). They were kind enough to stay with Hallie for a couple of days (and I don't think she even noticed we were gone, lol) and we set off for The Swag, an all inclusive inn in Waynesville, NC. The views and hikes in the Great Smokies were breathtaking and it was so good for our souls to rest and rejuvinate. We had one of the most spiritual experiences on top of Gooseberry Knob watching the gorgeous sunrise (see pics) next to a retired pastor who opened up his Bible and read some of Psalm 19 to us:

"The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display his craftmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Yet their message has gone thoroughout the earth,
and their words to all the world.

God has made a home in the heavens for the sun.
It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding.
It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race.
The sun rises at one end of the heavens
and follows its course to the other end.
Nothing can hide from its heat."

WoW. Hearing those words as the sun actually did burst forth into the sky over those majestic mountains, we were truly in awe of God's creation! We're so thankful we took this time to spend with eachother and feel blessed because we did.
