Celebrating Our Boys in Blue

Other than a little trip over the ocean to Ethiopia, much of what we've been doing in our free time lately has revolved around cheering on our beloved Wildcats. If you've completely been in the dark, they did just win the 2012 National Championship...!

They started their tournament journey right here in Louisville, so we got to take in the open practice, which was more just a shootaround but pretty cool to be that up close.  Then we attended the game versus Iowa State and watched all the rest of the games on tv.  Okay so we missed the Baylor one when we were in Ethiopia, but we followed it online (whenever the internet wasn't cutting out) and text messages from my dad.  And we had our UK shirts on.  That's dedication, right?  We did have to sell our Final Four tickets...meeting our son was worth it of course...and on championship evening, we had a fun time cooking out and playing cornhole as a family.  We nervously watched that game after Hallie was in bed, with Josh pacing the floor and me curled up in a near fetal position at times (lol).  We were shocked we didn't wake Hallie up after the final buzzer went off as we jumped up and down in our living room!  :c)

We were so excited that we just *had* to drive to Lexington the next day to welcome the team home to Rupp Arena and watch the banner be raised into the rafters (yay!!).  And lastly, just this weekend, the trophy came by to a store really close to our house, and we couldn't resist the opportunity to stop by and take a picture with it.  Hallie was the star of the store when she told everyone how much she loves "Doron Wamb" and how she saw "Darius Mi-wer" carry in the very same trophy off the bus at Rupp Arena.  :c)

We love our Wildcats!
