One Year Waiting for Our Boy...

If you're reading this on Tuesday, August 9th, you will see that our adoption ticker says one year waiting. Yes, we got on the waiting list exactly one year ago today. Of course we started the process in May, so we're actually at 15 months or so, but one year on the official waiting list. To be honest, when we got on the list, we had high hopes that we'd have a referral and possibility even have him home by now. But that wasn't God's plan, and we are learning each day to give up our timeline and trust in His perfect one. This year has been full of ups and downs in the adoption world, times that we've thought "is this ever going to happen?" and times that we've thought "wow, this is really going to happen!" Being in the top ten is like combining both of those thoughts at the same time (hard to explain, but it seems like we are so close and yet so far away...). We continue to pray that God will allow us to see our son's face (at least a referral) by the holidays (and would love for you to join us in that prayer)!

Although we long for the fourth member of our family, we are so thankful that we've been able to have this special time as a family of three and try to cherish this time in our lives. Hallie's had a great summer full of trips to the park, cookouts, pool time, visits with grandparents, and swim and gymnastics lessons. Oh and course Bats games with Dr. Daddy! :c) Here are some pictures that pretty much sum up her summer...
