Although we missed Hallie immensely (she stayed with Mawmaw and Pawpaw--much thanks to them!), we had so much fun together exploring a city with such history. Unfortunately we did have some issues getting home with cancelled flights and all the bad weather in the midwest. We ended up having to rent an SUV and drive home 11 hours (much of it through the snow). Well, I shouldn't say we, as Josh drove the whole way (thanks honey)! All in all, we are thankful to be safely home, but it was a fantastic trip that we will always remember.

Our Whirlwind Week in Washington DC
Last Tuesday, Josh and I headed out to DC for him to attend a sports medicine conference. Luckily the conference was set up so that he had several afternoons free and we also got there a day early so we could spend an entire day touring the city. Neither of us had ever been to our nation's capital before and we were in awe of everything we saw! We crammed as much as we could into our four days there. Highlights included the trolley tour around the city with stops at the Capitol, Union Station, Supreme Court, White House, National Archives to see the original Constitution & Declaration of Independence, etc. etc.---the monuments!---the museums!---seeing the changing of the guard at Arlington---and watching our John Wall play for the Wizards. I also did a few things by myself while Josh was learning from NBA, NFL, and MLB team docs (he was in heaven)...like the Holocoust Museum (wow) and the National Cathedral.
