Drum Roll Please...

....our dossier has been accepted and we are officially on the waitlist! Praise the Lord! This was a huge undertaking and we are so glad to be done with paperwork (until our referral at least). We were thinking of our beloved Patrick Patterson yesterday when we found out. Why, you ask? Well, because this is our first official number on the list...

I know, only the Johnsons would think of that, right? :c) Anyways, we are number 54 in line for an infant boy. We will get (and pass along to our faithful readers) official number updates each month. There are some families above us with different parameters (for example, some are open to toddlers as well as infants), but the majority of the families above us are waiting for infant boys as well. So we will settle in for the long wait. Our agency said be prepared to wait 12-18 months for our referral since the process has slowed down quite a bit in Ethiopia due to the new traveling twice policy and more paperwork, etc. We plan to begin praying and believing that God will allow us to bring our son home in 2011! Thanks for all your support and encouragement throughout the paperwork stage of this journey so far. Please continue to pray for us as we move into this next phase of waiting.

PS...This news was a nice distraction last night from the craziness of Josh's car breaking down in the middle of the road! It seriously was happening at the exact same time...I was at home on the phone with our agency while Josh was in the middle of the road having to push his car into someone's driveway because it just quit. Oh my---life throws you curveballs sometimes, but we're thankful for good news to celebrate in the midst of that!

Congrats on the special number! So sorry about Josh's car! I have a certain player from last year (15) that I would like to send to immigration to mediate concerning a set of paperwork close to my heart. Should I request he wear is headband or not?
